"Grape Agate" - Spherical Amethyst Cluster - Sulawesi, Indonesia

Commonly referred to as Grape Agate, these specimens from Sulawesi, Indonesia are not really agates, but clusters of small, spherical Amethyst crystals, with colors spanning a range of purples, greens, and greys depending on composition or other inclusions.

This is a good-sized specimen with mainly light lavender to bluish color. Check out the hollow casts on one side, where quartz grew around another spherical surface that is no longer present, either some matrix or another mineral.
