"Grape Agate" - Spherical Amethyst Cluster - Sulawesi, Indonesia

Commonly referred to as Grape Agate, these specimens from Sulawesi, Indonesia are not really agates, but clusters of small, spherical Amethyst crystals, with colors spanning a range of purples, greens, and greys depending on composition or other inclusions.

This is a rather sculptural piece, with a form that almost resembles a cresting wave. The myriad growth habits the crystals from this find can take always surprise me!
