Vesuvianite - Jeffrey Mine, Quebec, Canada

Nice Vesuvianite specimen from the long-closed Jeffrey Mine, a former asbestos quarry in Val-des-Sources, Estrie, Quebec, Canada. Once a prolific source of Garnet, Vesuvianite, and other minerals, specimen mining has not occurred here since 2001!

This piece has an even light-green color and is 95% terminated, just one little chip and a rider crystal growing through part of the termination. Good example of a single Vesuvianite crystal.
